Golf for Everyone: Discover Talon Links, the New Golf Canada Putting Park™

The 2026 RBC Canadian Open may have wrapped up at TPC Toronto, but a new golf experience is here to stay.
As the world’s best golfers move on to the US Open, Golf Canada is opening the doors to its brand-new headquarters in Caledon, along with an innovative new addition to the facility: Talon Links, a public putting park™ designed to make golf more accessible for everyone.
While covering the Canadian Open, CP24 journalist Jee-Yun Lee visited the site to speak with Golf Canada COO Garret Ball about the vision behind Talon Links, what makes the project unique, and attempts to recreate one of the most memorable moments in Canadian golf history.
Breaking Down Barriers to the Game
Golf Canada’s vision is to make the sport more welcoming and accessible. Talon Links supports that mission by creating a space where anyone can experience golf — regardless of age, skill level, or background.
“There are now 6.8 million golfers in Canada playing golf, and 900,000 of them only play indoors or at these off-course facilities,” says Ball. “We want this to be a pilot for other municipalities across the country… golf can be free and accessible.”
In partnership with First Tee, Talon Links represents a new chapter in growing the game by providing a free, inclusive entry point where new golfers can discover the sport and experienced players can continue to develop their skills.
What to Expect at Talon Links
Designed and built by Himalayas Golf, Talon Links brings the character of traditional golf course architecture into an innovative new setting. Thoughtful design, natural elements, and accessible programming come together to create a unique destination for the entire community.
Free Public Access: Following the RBC Canadian Open, Talon Links will be open to the public at no cost, providing an opportunity for everyone to experience golf.
Family-Friendly Experience: Designed for all skill levels, the Putting Park™ requires no previous golf experience. Putters and balls will be available for kids, families, and newcomers looking to try the game.
Sustainable Design: Designed with social, economic, and environmental sustainability in mind, the facility uses artificial turf to reduce maintenance, eliminate pesticides, conserve water, and provide a high-quality playing surface with long-term community benefits.
Relive Golf History: Visitors can test their skills on the 18th hole, a recreation of Nick Taylor’s unforgettable 72-foot winning putt that secured his victory at the 2023 Canadian Open (and became the 1st Canadian to win the Open in 69 years!).
