Paul Jansen is the founder and CEO of Himalayas Golf and an award-winning golf course architect. His work spans championship courses, putting courses, par-3 layouts and short-game facilities, combining creative design with a practical understanding of construction, maintenance and how people enjoy the game.

Raised in South Africa, Paul began his career with Ault, Clark & Associates in the United States before moving to Europe in 2001. As Lead Architect for Sir Nick Faldo, he worked on golf projects around the world, gaining experience across varied landscapes, climates and cultures.

In 2010, Paul founded Jansen Golf Design and Construction and shortly afterwards returned to North America while continuing to deliver projects internationally. Collaborations with short-game pioneer Dave Pelz and PGA and LPGA Tour coach Gareth Raflewski further shaped his approach to designing facilities that make practice more engaging, effective and purposeful

Today, Paul leads Himalayas Golf’s “Golf in Small Spaces” approach, creating distinctive places to play, practise and have fun using both natural grass and artificial turf. He advocates for golf that uses land and resources thoughtfully, is practical to maintain and offers lasting enjoyment for players of all abilities.
