Cedar Brae Practice Facility Flyover
Some overhead footage of the incredible short-game practice facility we designed and built at Cedar Brae Golf Club in Toronto, Canada. The practice green, originally 8,000sq/ft, was expanded to 18,000sq/ft with the help of design consultant and PGA/LPGA Tour Coach Gareth Raflewski.
18,000sq/ft of green, bunkers, surrounds and a wedge range all rolled into one short game area... there's nothing else like it anywhere on earth.
Included in the works was a total re-shape of the driving range target greens (grass), the addition of five wedge targets to the driving range (artificial), the addition of two tee pads for the wedge range that combined both rough and fairway turfs (artificial) as well as a complete re-working of the practice green (grass).
“Every time I take one of my players to a practice green,” says Gareth, “I see a lack of actual practice opportunities. I wanted to build something with Jansen Golf that actually had all the shots I want my players to hit so they can compete on the highest levels. Essentially, I wanted to turn the green itself into the training aid. Design for performance in mind is what we wanted to accomplish here, and I’m very proud of the way it came out.”
We work in artificial turf and grass to create the best facilities possible to suit the needs of the client, and often the marriage of both results in the perfect solution. We aren’t just any artificial turf installers, we are golf course architects first.
